Wayfinder.TV

Around the world – from Beijing to Baltimore – today’s teens are much more than just an audience for content. They are actual creators and contributors, designers and developers, bloggers and broadcasters, filmmakers and fact-checkers, and much more.

Because of the internet, the widespread availability of creative tools and technology, and the social networked world in which they live – they expect – really demand to be participants in their media and entertainment experiences and totally reject passive media consumption. And they have the greatest global perspective of any generation before them.

Wayfinder.tv is a first-of-a-kind property. It is a global, multi-platform, destination-oriented travel show hosted by, shot by, and generally produced by teens 15-19. It honors their media and creative sensibilities and helps to take them farther by honing their story telling and production abilities.

Think of your favorite travel show with hosts that head off to exotic, interesting, and even dangerous places. Now imagine that the hosts are an ensemble cast of teens and still heading off to those same destinations but with a teen perspective. But they’re not just traveling and showing the sites. They’re making the show – planning the episode – documenting the trip – telling the stories. Supported by experienced professionals, including a former CNN war correspondent and the official documentary filmmaker for UNICEF – they’re doing the camerawork, edit, and all.

Wayfinder.TV doesn’t end when the show ends. It’s alive and active online 24/7 with a global social network, photo and video blogs, and loads of user generated content. The site will be rich with tips, tricks, and general information about how to tell stories, take photos, and create documentary videos.
